Goodbye... For Now

You came into my life
and ignited my heart.
Making me laugh,
you gave me a gift
of a never ending smile.

Even through the pain,
I knew it was meant to be.
You’re the light in my life
and the twinkle in my eye.
I never once second guessed
my love for you.

So I go, I hesitate,
I promised myself
I would never let this happen.
My heart breaks
at the mere idea of not
being in your arms.

So many miles between us,
I don’t ever know how I will cope.
When I say I love you,
it’s to remind you that

that ever happened to me this holiday.

and accepted less then I deserve
